TAC Lite is Netgate's commitment to all customers, ensuring they can connect to the network and confirm connectivity when purchasing a Netgate device with pfSense Plus software. From the initial out-of-box experience to connecting your new Netgate firewall to the Internet, ensuring one client is online and can ping outside the network, we are here to help. Customers who purchase a Netgate device do not need to buy a subscription and enjoy TAC Lite support free of charge for the device's lifetime.

For customers without a Netgate device, TAC Lite will ensure timely software updates and other benefits offered to Netgate device customers.

Business, production, MSP/CSP, and similar uses require a pfSense+ commercial license, subject to the EULA (End-User License Agreement). For volume and OEM inquiries, please contact us.

Available Commercial Licenses:

  • Commercial Instance: License for one instance on custom hardware (white box/DIY) or a virtual machine.
  • Cloud Images: Available directly on AWS and Azure marketplaces. Private AWS/Azure offers and OEM licenses are available upon request.
  • Enhanced Commercial Instances: Include additional support for Netgate devices with pfSense Plus.

TAC Lite Included

TAC Lite support is provided free of charge with Netgate devices running pfSense Plus software for the device’s lifetime. See our lifecycle page for more details.

  • Assistance with connecting the pfSense Plus instance to the Internet and getting a client online on the same network.
  • Prices in US dollars (taxes not included).

pfSense Plus Annual Software Subscription for Commercial Use

  • Migration: Upgrade from pfSense 2.7 to pfSense Plus.
  • Commercial Use: Subject to the EULA.
  • Technical Support: Access to Netgate's global support team via the Technical Assistance Center (TAC).

How to Purchase TAC Lite Support (24/7/365):

  1. If upgrading from pfSense CE, select the Upgrade option.
  2. If renewing your pfSense+ software subscription with TAC Lite, select the Renewal option and enter your Netgate Device ID (NDI) in the required field. The NDI is located on the pfSense+ software dashboard. Copy and paste it into the field.
  3. Choose a term of 1 or 2 years.
  4. Click the + Add to Cart button.

Important Notes:

  • Support is sold per installation. Only installations with a valid support subscription will be covered.
  • TAC subscriptions are available only for pfSense Plus. If you are using pfSense CE, migration will be required before requesting support. See the documentation on how to migrate from pfSense CE to pfSense Plus.
  • TAC subscriptions are non-refundable.
